Heather had asked me months ago, when the baby inside her was probably the size of a gummi bear, if I’d photograph her pregnant body before she gave birth. Later on she described the lightning bolts of blue veins rising, vivid just beneath her skin, and how shirts that fit fine on Tuesday would be much too tiny for her by Friday. Still, I wasn’t prepared for the wonderous, strange beauty of her body now just a few weeks she’ll give birth.
